This is a 1 day a week part-time position.

Memorial Day – Labor Day Schedule: Sundays each week during the summer season, approximately, 11:45AM-4:15PM.

Pay is $14 an hour.

Overview

Guest Services staff at the Midwest Miniatures Museum serve as the first point of contact for each guest that enters the Museum. Guest Services staff are responsible for providing quality customer service in the form of providing a brief orientation to the museum, fielding of guest’s questions, collecting admissions and payments for gift shop sales, and overall ensuring that the guest has the best experience possible within the Museum.

Summarized Responsibilities

  • Works directly with guests throughout their entire experience at the Museum, including providing a brief orientation for guests upon their arrival.
  • Accurately processes all museum store purchases and admissions into a computerized cash register. The museum accepts various forms of payment including cash and credit.
  • Opens and closes the museum and provides any necessary light cleaning, such as cleaning fingerprints off display cases, or other tasks needed to improve the experience of guests.
  • Answers phones, assisting callers and taking messages when appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • 18 Years of age or older.
  • Willingness and availability to work Sundays, seasonally, Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service. This includes greeting each guest as they arrive, providing a brief orientation, being helpful.
  • Upon training, the ability to perform basic cash handling tasks utilizing Square POS system.
  • Ability to work well in a team and individually.
  • Knowledge/experience with miniatures or museums is a plus.
